Big Bertha

Ok, so there isn't anything new going on here. We've had a pretty unexciting last couple of weeks just enjoying this holiday season. I am getting huge though! Here's a funny pic I took with Makenna last night!

We are leaving for Scott's parent's house today to spend Christmas with them. We hope you all have a safe and Merry Christmas!

UPDATE!!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while! I have no excuse really. We are really enjoying our new house. We put up Christmas lights on our house which is so fun since it's our first year doing it! I think we were first on our block to put them up! Makenna has been getting sick a lot lately... YUCK. First she had the stomach flu which kept her up the entire night one night throwing up every 10 or so minutes! Then a week later she got Croup, which was also awful. So we are hoping to keep the germs away for a while so we can get back to normal! Here is what our little boy looks like these days...

He's getting so big! I can't believe I just have about 2 months left! We may have decided on a name for him... Jace Vandon. Jace because we like it, and Vandon is our dad's middle names combined. We will see though! We are both extremely undecided when it comes to names!

We bought Makenna a play gym for the backyard so she could actually play back there! All we have back there is a cement porch and dirt... we will be planting grass in the spring, but until then it gets pretty dirty having her play out there. Here she is playing on it...

We took a family drive up to the top of the Sandia mountains here in Albuquerque, and it was SO beautiful! Here are a couple of pics from that...

Yesterday we went up to Jemez national forest to find our Christmas tree! We went back up into this random area and found the most beautiful rocky mountains and waterfall. It was amazing. We ended up finding that there had been a fire pass through at some time so it was very hard to find a tree that wasn't burnt, but we did find one and I love it...

Then of course we decorated our tree. Makenna really liked putting up all the ornaments, and as you can see she is a pro... :) Well I think that pretty much sums up what we have been up to lately! Hopefully I will be better and not have to have a huge post like this again!

Halloween

This year our Halloween Festivities started out on Friday night. We had our ward trunk or treat party. Makenna had a blast saying "Truck or Treat" and receiving a piece of candy in return. Now that's a great trade off! She nibbled on some of the candy as she walked. It was adorable. Then on Halloween day, her friend Aryn had a Halloween party! They played games, decorated cookies, and made cute halloween crafts. That was also a blast. Then last night, we went trick or treating down the street with the Becks. The girls LOVED it! All the neighbors thought they were just the cutest little things... which they are, I'll admit it! One neighbor even wanted to take their picture! Now if Makenna wants some of her candy, she says, "Mom, trick or treat!"

The new Casa

We moved into our house last weekend. Everything's been great. I think we like our house even more now that we are in it! It's a great house for us. We couldn't be happier.

Oh, funny story. I was on the phone with the directTV lady trying to set everything up, and she says, "We have DirectTV in Mexico?!!" and I replied, "Umm no, actually it's New Mexico and we are a state in the US." She says, "Oh. What time zone are you in?!" Like we are in some other part of the world. So, just so you all know, we still live in the United States. :)

ITZ

Because we are moving in a couple days, we wanted to do something really fun with the Becks, so we went to a fun place called ITZ. The girls had a blast and I have to admit the parents did too... :) Here are some pics!

My BOD

This is my latest full body prego pic. No more comments about how little my stomach is! I should not be looking this big at 5 months! (actually go ahead and lie to me so I feel better about myself) :)

Moving!!

We are closing on our house on Wednesday! We will have the keys on Friday so we can move in on the weekend! We are SOOOOOOOOO excited! We can't wait to have our very own house! I can't wait to do yard work! haha (I will probably take that back later). So if any of you want, you can come over and pack some boxes!

He's 27! WHOAAAA!

It was Scott's birthday yesterday, and it might have been the worst birthday he's ever had! We had to go to a homebuyer class from 9-4, so poor Scott had to listen to lectures all day. But this will get us one step closer to getting into our house, so he took it for the team! Scott got a "really cool" dartboard to put in our new garage. We ended the day by eating cake with the Becks and Scott watched BYU beat UNLV with Jed. So it was a good ending to a not so good day!

Pumpkin Patch

We went to the pumpkin patch on Friday with the Burns' family (Scott's sister) and had a great time! We went through a corn maze, pet and fed some animals, picked out pumpkins, took a hayride, and ended in a big box of corn! It was a blast.

Balloon Fiesta

This past week in Albuquerque has been the big balloon festival. It was soooo neat and a lot of fun to see. Here are some pictures (I stole some from the website cause mine weren't that good.... hahaha)

The Aquarium

This is a little late cause we went last week, but I haven't been able to put any pictures up for a few days. Anyways, we had a great time at the aquarium with Megan and Brinnley. Here are some cute pics I took!

Weekend with the Lees

We went to Bloomfield last weekend to see the Harts and the Andersons who were down from Idaho, along with all the other Lee family clan that is already there. We had a great time. Makenna loved playing with her cousins and having a fun backyard to play in!

We got it!

So I know I've been blogging up a storm today, but I felt this news deserved a spot on our blog! We made an offer on a house a few days ago, and after a few stressful days of counter offers we found out we got it! We are so excited! It's the perfect house for us and our growing family. We are also excited to be near Stefanie and her family on the NW side of Albuquerque. Our move-in date is probably going to be Nov. 1st. I can't wait! Here is a pic of our house...

Hair

Makenna has the most beautiful hair. I noticed how pretty it looked today so I decided to snap some pictures of her! She loved posing for me!

Today was Makenna's 2nd birthday! We had a great day! Makenna went to playgroup this morning, which she loves! Then we went to a fun place called IT'Z and went on some rides and played some fun games! Tonight Makenna opened her presents and absolutely LOVES her new dollhouse from mommy and daddy. We love our little 2 year-old!

BOY!

So we had our big ultrasound today and it is definitely a baby BOY! He gave us many shots of his boy parts, one of which I included in the slideshow! We are so excited! As most of you know Scott is the only boy in his family with 7 sisters! He thought for sure he would have all girls, so he's very excited to pass on the family name!

The Becks

Since we've lived in Albuquerque, we have been lucky enough to meet some great friends- the Becks! Scott and Jed, Megan and I, and Makenna and Brinnley are equally great friends. It's fun to find another family that is so much like us and have become sort of like our Albuquerque family. We love you guys!

2nd Birthday Party!

Makenna had her second birthday party on Saturday! It was a double party with her best bud Brinnley who was born on the same day! We went swimming and they had a blast! They also loved eating cake and opening their presents!

Scott's New Job!

As many of you know, Scott was able to find a new job! It is with ICI Paints (it's a huge company that owns lots of different paint brands), and he will be an outside sales rep for them. He will be helping existing clients and trying to find new ones as well. Most of his business is in Albuquerque, but the state of New Mexico is his territory... the farthest he will travel is about 3 hours away. We are so excited and are looking forward to being able to buy a house in the near future!

California sun!

Makenna's official all-time favorite place in the world is the beach! It was so fun to watch her run from the waves, chase the birds, and somehow manage to get sand on every speck of her body! She had a blast!
