GDO

Makenna and I have been able to have a couple really fun GDO's (girl's day outs!)  When I told her we were going to go out together and we could do whatever she wanted, she made a list...
movie
manicures
shopping
Read magazines together
Coldstones
Do each other's hair

It was so cute and all she could talk about for a few days!  Luckily we did get to do some of those things!  We got manicures, went to Toys R Us and picked a toy, ate Coldstones, and rented a movie to watch at home.  It was so fun!  I love having a daughter to do things like that with!  I'm sure it will just keep getting more and more fun as she gets older!

Today we got to go again!  (Scott feels jipped!)  We went to see the Nutcracker!  Makenna really liked it and I could tell she was so excited about it!  She really wants to start dancing again now too :)  We are going to try to find a new place since I wasn't loving her old studio anymore.

With some other gals that were there.  Makenna looks under-dressed!  Michelle's kids in those fancy dresses were just too darn cute!  (don't worry, there were plenty of classy New Mexicans to help us feel like we weren't under-dressed in our jeans!)

Afterwards we went to a cute diner across the street for milkshakes... OMG YUMMM!!  It was so good!!!!  Love my little girl.

Cami talking!

Cami found her voice in a big way!  I think she's going to be a talker like her sis!

River of Lights

We went to River of Lights with the Burns again.  So cold but so fun!

The girls obliged me with lots of pictures!  I took advantage...

 hundreds of poinsettias... so pretty!

kids except Brig and Cami, who slept soundly in her car seat the entire time (go Cami!)

Snow Day!

Makenna had her first snow day from school a couple weeks ago!  Let me just say when I found out it was snow day I was so excited!!  Scott didn't have to go to seminary, no making lunches, no doing hair...  we slept in and lounged around!  It was so nice!!  I am definitely a fan of snow days!

so are the kids...

this is my nativity in the window- so pretty!

Cami laughing!

Cami first laughed a week and a half ago, but I finally got it on video!  I was trying to bounce the bed while taping, so the video is a little crazy!!

Christmas tree in the Jemez

We love going to the mountains and cutting down our tree.  It's such a fun tradition.  Let me just say I have learned to not be picky when looking for a tree!  If it's about the right size and a pine tree, it's a good one!  Our tree this year is especially random looking since we let the kids pick one!  For some reason once you get it all lit up and decorated it looks cute!

The snow was super fun this year and the weather was not too cold

Dragging the tree down to the car

would have been my favorite had the baby not been crying!

I'll take it

now this is just getting a little ridiculous!

this is before we turned the tree to show it's good side!

not bad!

Merry Christmas from Cami!

holiday hat day

It was "holiday hat day" at school last week.  I'm not really sure why they call it holiday hat day... come on people!  It's not like the kids are going to show up with Kwanzaa hats and Hanukkah hats!  So lame...  whatevs  I stinkin love this picture of her!

Thanksgiving

The night before thanksgiving we had a cousin sleepover with Camden and Kyla which was soooo fun!  I'm so glad my kids have such good cousins nearby!

This is what we are thankful for this year: (I am obsessed with the ones Makenna wrote!)

and some cute pilgrims drawn by Makenna!

On Thanksgiving day we spent most of the day cooking and watching football.  I made pecan pie, lemon meringue pie, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, sweet potatoes, and rolls!  YUMMMM!  Then at 4:00 we headed over to the Burns house to eat one of the best thanksgiving meals ever!  Thanks Stef, your turkey was to die for!  We were also joined by some friends from the ward, the Stellmons, and Brian's parents.  It was such a nice time together.  Missy made a cute caterpillar cake for the kids to decorate!

Lots of yummy pies!
So much to be thankful for!

hahaha this picture cracks me up.  I love the rolls in the middles of her arms.  I want to eat her up!
 2 month stats:
weight: 13 lbs (95%)
height: 23.5 (75-90%)
head (50%)

Yesterday I got her to laugh!  She is extremely ticklish so I used that to my advantage!  I love my chubby happy baby!

surgery

(bye little buddy!)

I finally had my Follicular Tumor removed! I'm free! We got to the hospital at 6:00 AM on Friday and I felt a little nervous. This was the first surgery I've had and I didn't know what to expect. I have to say that I felt very calm compared to how I thought I would feel because I'm just a nervous person! The nurse that was with me when they put me under was this hilarious black guy. He kept saying the funniest things and I just remember him jabbering away and looking at me really funny and then I was out! (I'm pretty sure he gets a kick out of watching people go under!)

When I woke up I was in a lot of pain. The nurse quickly gave me some morphine which took the edge off. The next few hours were so strange. I was in a large recovery room sectioned off by curtains with lots of other people that just came out of surgery as well. I remember a lot but I was definitely drugged up. These are my recollection of this time: I was extremely itchy and could not stop itching my face, I was trying as hard as I could to read the clock but I could not focus on it, there was a really strange biker dude across from me that kept saying the weirdest things and would not shut up, every time I fell asleep I would wake up in a panic because I felt like I couldn't breathe, a lot of people were snoring, I really wanted to sign everything to my nurses because my throat hurt so bad, and I got to eat popsicles and "sonic ice!" It was a very strange/funny few hours!  Finally I was able to go to a room and see Scott and Cami. It was good to see them. He said the doctor told him everything went really well and that they didn't see any cancer when they were in there which was of course great news. They will let me know in about a week if they find any cancer.

My recovery has been alright. I'm not going to lie though it has been very painful! Thanks goodness for pain meds. It mostly hurts when I swallow, turn my neck, and try to sleep. Hopefully it will get better soon so I can get back to my busy life!

Let me just say that I have the best family. I have been overwhelmed by their love and support. All along I have known that my situation was not a big deal because one way or another it would have worked itself out and was in no way life-threatening, but my family insisted on praying on my behalf over the last few months as well as including me in their fasts. I have felt very unworthy of all that. My heart was beyond touched to hear that my niece fasted for the first time on my behalf. I feel very blessed and have felt the strength that has come from each prayer, whether I felt I needed them or not.

Thank you to any of you reading this that have called, offered meals, offered babysitting, prayed, or fasted for me. It means so much to me and I appreciate everything from the depths of my soul!!

Cami- 7 weeks

Cami is 7 weeks old now!  She is the sweetest thing ever.  She is getting huge and fits in her 3-6 month clothes now!  I am anxious to see how much she weighs... at 2 weeks she had already gone from 7 lbs 14 oz to 9 lbs. 8 oz, so we shall see.  She started sleeping 10 hours a night at 6 weeks and I'm really hoping it sticks.  She is always so happy and smiley and starting to try to talk to us.  Basically she is a dream!

who do they look like?

Of course the first thing people comment on when you have a baby is who they look like...  only I have a very hard time knowing... so you be the judge.  Here are Makenna, Jace, Scott, and me as babies.  Plus some older ones of Scott and I to compare the older kids.
