Christmas Tree Hunting

We went to cut down a Christmas tree today in the Jemez mountains with the Gondas. This is our 5th year going, and it is my favorite Christmas tradition ever!

Searching for the tree of our dreams

We found it! Here we are in front of our tree

The cute Gonda family with their awesome tree!

Sledding in and eating the snow

This was not posed (ok maybe it was!) The second we got home she was back in her dress-ups

The finished product!

Thanksgiving

We spent Thanksgiving up at Scott's parent's house along with the Worths, Burns, great-grandma Lee, and Scott's Aunt Fran. Dinner was SOOOO yummy! We had lots and lots to choose from, and I think that's the most I've eaten this whole year!
Stef and I decided to be crazy and do the black Friday thing. I was at Walmart bright and early at 4:40 AM!!! I got some great deals! It was definitely worth the craziness. I think that will be a new tradition.

My newest nieces and nephew. My amazing sis. in law Sherri is hoping to adopt them soon. We already love them so much!

I'm a NERD!

So I've been clipping coupons lately just for the fun of it. I've heard how much you can save if you use them wisely when they match up with good sale prices or when they double. So I thought I would try it! Well it's now become a hobby of mine! It's fun to get stuff for so cheap and sometimes even free! So all of the above stuff that I got today was guess how much... 15 dollars!!! woooohooooo! That is why it deserved a picture on my blog!

A new do

So this is sad, but this is Makenna's first real hair cut! The only ever time I cut it was when she was a few months old and it was looking a little too mullet-like...

For some reason these pictures are not showing how bad it really was. You can kind of see from this pic how short it was... in one place it was only about 2 inches in the back!

Ready for her hair cut!

My friend Kim saved the day! She came right over and cut it so cute! Thank you thank you thank you!

It's still crazy to see her with short hair!

OH NO!!!

The girl just cut gobs of hair off her head!!! This is what I get for blogging while Makenna is awake... Crap! I guess the next time you see her she will have a shorter hair-do.
Luckily the shorter pieces are in the bangs area... After I told her we would have to cut her hair short, she got all sad... go figure!

You can see a couple pieces are taken off the back. I'm going to miss that hair!! Alright, now I really gotta get back to being a mommy!

Love the fall

Having fun in the backyard... For those who have been asking, here is a pic of the near-finished project. There are still a few things that need to be done (fill up the planters and plant flowers, a couple of boulders, a possible sandbox, finishing touches on our firepit patio) but it's pretty much there. Excuse the random stepping stones strewn about.

a little reminder of what we had to deal with when we moved in. The fence is a dog-run.

I took this pic back in August

Baby Jace got his first real injury a couple days ago- poor guy was burned on his hand by the oven. A little update since he's changed a lot lately... he is clapping, waving, saying "mama" and "yayy," and he's getting his two front teeth in (which has made for a hard last few days.) He's still scooting all over, but he's super fast now, so I guess he feels that works for him! Love my little guy!

what the...

So you guys know about the prop 8 in California that banned gay marriage? Well now there are protesters outside of LDS temples... They are blaming LDS church members for passing proposition 8, even though LDS church members make up 2% of the population in California. Last time I checked they live in a democracy and the majority of the people voted yes on 8. To read about the protest click here . If you want to get really TO'd, watch the videos under the article!
