Giggles

Jace laughed his first laugh today! Scott was tickling him and making silly sounds and he let out a real belly laugh! Scott and I agreed that hearing your baby laugh for the first time is the best sound in the world. I wish I had it on video! Once he starts doing it more I will have to capture it. Here are some pics of the little guy. Sorry for lots of the same pose, but I think it really gives you an idea of what he looks like.

This & That

These two are about a week apart and on opposite ends of the spectrum for height and weight. Isn't it amazing how much they can differ?! Jace looks like a major chubb next to her!
Update on Jace- He smiles all the time now and is very close to laughing for the first time... I can't wait to hear that sweet sound! He is extremely ticklesh so I'm betting that's how it will happen... He didn't keep up his 9 hour sleeping nights, although I had two wonderful nights of that! He does sleep about 7 hours though, so I'm still not complaining. Makenna cannot keep her hands off him which gets annoying sometimes! She is a lot more gentle with him now so that is a plus.
Update on the Lees- We are landscaping our backyard right now since it's just dirt at the moment. We are starting our sprinkler system this week, then next week we can hopefully get the grass in! I cannot wait for that day to come! That is pretty much where all our time together is spent!

Museum fun

Yesterday we went to the Museum of Natural History. Unfortunately it was a little more fun for mom and dad! Makenna made it known that she does not like dinosaur bones, volcanoes are scary, and she doesn't like bats. I really enjoyed myself though! They had some really neat exhibits. I'm always surprised by the museums and other places here in Albuquerque- it's not completely unfortunate! In fact, Albuquerque has really grown on me and I feel very happy here. Of course, it is no San Diego... :) Maybe someday...

Yay Kenna!!!!!!

-these are the words that are often coming out of my mouth throughout the day when Makenna uses the toilet! She is mostly potty-trained with a few exceptions (taken a while huh?!) Whenever she fills up a new potty chart or does exceptionally well we take her to Chuck-E-Cheese. I don't know what it is about this place, but it works miracles! She always loves it.

Dr. Check-ups

I took Jace and Makenna to the Dr. today, both for check-ups. Are you ready for this? Jace weighed in at a whopping 15 lbs. 3 oz and is 24 inches long! She said his height is 95% and weight is a little off the chart! hahaha. I thought he has been feeling a little heavy lately. :) She said she isn't concerned at all because they are proportional... I'm a little worried though with how much longer I will be able to carry the boy! Makenna is 31 lbs and 37 inches which are both 50-75% so she is growing great! They both had to get shots which I absolutely dreaded, but they did really well. Makenna was very brave, I was so proud of her. She kept saying, "when are they going to poke me?!" in a very excited sounding voice... little did she know... But then she only cried for a minute and was happy that the shots were making her more healthy. :) She also decided today that she is going to be a doctor when she gets bigger. She actually said that to the Dr. haha

Something to put a smile on your face...

Cheesy

I go in Makenna's room today and look what I caught her doing! Yes, that is a block of cheese.

Aquarium/ Gardens

On Friday I took Makenna and Jace to the Aquarium and Botanical Gardens. Apparently I picked the worst day possible to go because it was Spring Break week and there were TONS of people there! It was still fun, although we had to squeeze through the exhibits. I absolutely love the aquarium here because it's big enough that there are some really nice tanks with sharks, but it's not an all-day excursion. Next to the aquarium there are the botanical gardens which were so pretty with all the spring flowers. Of course I had to shoot some pictures. Makenna was not cooperating very well, but this is what I came up with...

In the "Chinese Gardens."
After seeing these cool circles in the gravel, I told Scott we need some in our backyard!
