Lost Tooth!

Makenna hit a big milestone yesterday... she lost her first tooth!  We were at the store and Jace was trying to look in her mouth so he grabbed onto her loose tooth, and it came right out in her mouth!  At first she didn't realize what happened and was mad at him because he hurt her, but once she realized he pulled her tooth out, she couldn't stop saying "Thank you Jace!"  It was so funny.  That thing has been hanging in there for a few months so she was glad to have it out!
She was SO excited for the tooth fairy to come.  She left her a note and a gift (a hair tie!) and woke up early this morning at 6:30 and ran into our room to show us her money!  I love when kids get so excited about these things!
Her other bottom tooth is loose now, so we'll see how long that one takes...

RAIN!

We haven't had a good rain in... well I couldn't even tell ya.  It's supposed to be monsoon season right now... not so much!  So when we finally got our rain, the kids ran outside and played in it for like an hour!

I love that it was raining so hard that you could see the rain coming down in the pictures!

Jace decided he wanted to cover up a little!

Pregnant Woman

I am adding yet one more complication to the list of complications I have had this pregnancy!  I have gestational diabetes!  I could not believe that my tests came back that I had it.  I have changed my diet for the last week which has been really hard, yet easy at the same time.  Hard because it is hard to just figure out what I can eat, and easy because I know it is what is best for baby Lee.  This is a sample of what I eat in a day:

Breakfast: toast with peanut butter
snack: cottage cheese/fruit
lunch: turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread
lots of veggies
snack: piece of fruit/slices of cheese
dinner: salad
meat dish
snack: nuts/cheese

Did you see any sugar in there?  Nope neither did I (besides the fruit) cause there is none!  I have had to cut out sweet stuff completely.  This is semi hard for a pregnant woman to do!  Especially one that craves sugary things all day!

I have to take my blood sugar level 4 times/day to make sure I'm within good levels.  I'm nervous because I just started today, and my lunch level was high and I was just eating what I always eat... ulllll this is going to be a long couple of months!  Hopefully it will all go away once the baby is born, and the baby will be born nice and healthy!  That is my wish!

This is what we are trying to avoid!  Did you hear about this sweet 16 pound baby that was born to a mother with Gestational Diabetes?  Big babies are a side effect of GD, as well as other problems the baby can have at birth.  Through monitoring on my end we should be able to avoid all complications.

In other news I am feeling a lot less sick since I changed my diet!  I am still sick when I first wake up until I eat, but I no longer get sick because I "eat the wrong thing" during the day!  It was probably the GD all along!    craziness.

Quilt

Made this quilt for my niece's new baby using this tutorial.  So easy and cute!  (Although Scott thought I had wasted my day away making it, the top only took 2 hours to put together!)

Moo

Dressed up like cows yesterday for some free meals at Chick-fil-A.  The kids LOVED it!  We will definitely be doing it next time!

Scott got into it too... check the horns yo.

The 4th

We started the 4th with our ward breakfast at the park.  It was really nice and good to get to know the ward a little better too.  Then we hit up the pool for a couple hours which was lovely.  (side note- you know that feeling when you're pregnant and you get out of the pool and aren't sure if it is humanly possible to carry the extra weight?  Yeah I had that sensation for the first time...)

We went to a BBQ later with some friends.  Can you believe that pinata is homemade?  I was impressed...

such a fun idea!  What kid doesn't like a pianta (as Jace says :)

So we looked all over the stinkin town for fireworks but couldn't find any!!  They've all been pulled off the shelves because of the fire danger.  I would have been happy with sparklers- but oh well!  We decided to drive down by the balloon fiesta fireworks and park somewhere to watch them... best idea ever!  We found the PERFECT spot and had the perfect get away!  There was no traffic.  Lovely.  It was so fun, and I loved spending the day with my cute family.  They are the best.

camping!

This weekend we thought it would be fun to take the kids camping... in our backyard!  We made a little fire just big enough for s'mores!  (crazy fire danger right now!)  Then we got settled in the tent and went to sleep... oh wait, nope, I went inside and slept in my bed!  What a good dad...  The kids had a blast!

Stuff

This post will not include pictures, mostly because I need to take more of them!  I'll do a little update on us though...

1.  I made this awesome schedule at the beginning of summer, and have not followed it one bit!  We have been playing it by ear a lot which I think I needed, but I am ready to get into more of a routine now.  The schedule included:
Monday- Grocery shopping/ swimming
Tuesday- Library/ park day
Wednesday- Free movie day/ Balloon Museum
Thursday- Swimming
Friday- Explora/ Zoo/ Aquarium

2.  One thing we have done a lot is go to the pool!  Both kids are doing so well with their swimming.  Makenna is full-on swimming which is nice to not have to worry about her anymore.  Jace dunks his head and will glide around the water.  I think he could be swimming by the end of summer.

3.  I am a crazy organizer/cleaner/decorator lady.  Every day I do something else weird...  So far I have- re-caulked our whole bathroom, cleaned out the entire garage, organized ALL kids clothes by size and put in huge pink/blue totes, made new bedskirt for our bed, organized every closet in the house, cleaned all baseboards in my room with Q-tips (don't ask), cleaned the blinds, made a quilt for my niece, and lots of other dumb stuff I won't mention!  Possibly nesting??  I don't know though, it seems a little early for that!

4.  We had a sweet garage sale a couple weeks ago and got rid of ALL our junk!  We made about 350 bucks in the process!  How sweet is that?!  The kids really liked selling cinnamon rolls, cookies, blow pops, and licorice to make some money.  After our garage sale we went to Target and the kids picked out a toy with their money!  (15 dollars each)

5. We have been throwing around names, and I'm pretty sure we have picked our boy name:  Brandon Scott Lee.  I love it.  Now for a girl name... ullll

6. I absolutely DESPISE the weather in Albuquerque this year.  The winter was FRIGID, the spring has been incredibly WINDY, and the summer has been super HOT!!  New Mexico is having major drought problems right now and there are crazy fires going on too.  It's kind of freaky.  The ward has been asked to fast for RAIN this sunday...

7.  I got a new blender... it's a Blendtec.  I LOVE IT!!  I love my green smoothies.  I usually make one once a day.  I think that's a good thing to be addicted to...

8. Father's day was really good this year.  I love spoiling my husband because he is the best father and husband I could ask for (so cliche I know!)  We brought him breakfast in bed.  I attempted hashbrowns to no avail... I'm not a fan so I don't know how to make 'em!  I gave Scott a new flip video camera, and he and the kids shot video after video all day.  It was super cute...  Scott would narrate stories, and the kids would act them out- adorbs!  For dinner I made Scott some steak, and strawberry pie for dessert.  Food is the way to my husband's stomach, so it is always a big part of his father's day!  I made some yummy chocolate-covered strawberries too!  I finished the day skyping my awesome dad.  He's such a goof which is why we get along so well... :)

Well that is all for now!

Jace's first baseball game and other fun stuff

Last week, Makenna left for 5 days to hang out with her Farmington/Bloomfield cousins!  The longest I have ever been away from her is maybe 2 days, so this was different...  but I'm not going to lie it was nice!  You see, Makenna adds a higher volume level to our house.  She is my talker that's for sure.  Without her here I really noticed that!  The house was quiet for 5 days straight!  (and now it is LOUD again!)

We spoiled Jace a little.  We took him to his first Isotopes game the first night.  He loved it!  I think he loved all the treats we spoiled him with the most!  I love my little boy.

don't bother me, I'm eating my junk food

Sister joined us too.  Isn't she cute?

It was the perfect night for a little baseball.

The other days we went to the pool a couple times, went to a movie, and on Friday night some cousins came to stay at our house for a sleepover!  Jace was in heaven playing with his cousins.  It was cute because he gravitated to the girl cousin that is Kenna's age... I think he missed his sis...  :)

Galloping Grace Ranch

One of our favorite things to do in the summer is head over to the Galloping Grace Ranch.  There are 4 stations: riding horses, writing thank you letters, grooming a horse, and scooping poop!  Yes, that last one is correct.  Everything is free, so that is how the kids "pay" to do all the other fun stuff!  I think it's great.  I can go on and on about why I love this organization.
